Georgia Tech vs Ole Miss Set For Primetime Kickoff On SEC Network In Week Three
Georgia Tech's game times for the first few weeks of the season have been set. One of the marquee games on the schedule is the matchup with SEC opponent Ole Miss in Oxford and the Yellow Jackets now know what time they will take on Lane Kiffin's squad.
Georgia Tech vs Ole Miss will be in primetime on the SEC Network on Sept. 16th and the game will kick off at 7:30.
This meeting did not go Georgia Tech's way last season, losing 42-3. It should be noted however that Geoff Collins was still the coach of the team for this game last season and Brent Key had not taken over.
For the Yellow Jackets to try and pull an upset in this game, they are going to have to do a better job of stopping the run. Rebels running back Quinshon Judkins had a great game the last time these two met and defensive coordinator Andrew Thacker is going to have to have his unit ready to go against one of the top offensive minds in college football.
Can Georgia Tech upset Ole Miss in 2023?
Ole Miss has three former Georgia Tech defenders playing for their defense. Defensive linemen Jared Ivey and Akelo Stone, and defensive back Zamari Walton are all going to be impact players for the Ole Miss defense in 2023.
Another thing that makes this matchup so intriguing is both teams are going through a quarterback battle. Georgia Tech is trying to settle on a starter between Zach Pyron, Zach Gibson, and Texas A&M transfer Haynes King, while Ole Miss is having a competition between the incumbent Jaxson Dart, LSU transfer Walker Howard, and Oklahoma State transfer Spencer Sanders.
