Kentucky dropped a few spots in the ESPN FPI rankings
Heading into the start of the 2023 football season, ESPN's FPI rankings had the Kentucky Wildcats 24th in their rankings.
After the week one victory over the Ball State Cardinals, the Wildcats dropped down to the 26th spot.
The Cats projected record rose from 7.2-4.8 to 7.4-4.6 after the 44-14 victory over Ball State.
Kentucky's chances of winning six or more games this season jumped from 83% to 87.6%.
The Cats chances of winning the SEC East rose from 3.9% to 5.3% after the season-opening victory.
Now, the Kentucky Wildcats are set to face the team from Richmond as EKU will make the trip to Kroger Field. ESPN's FPI matchup predictor gives Kentucky a 99.0% chance to win this football game.
The hope in this ball game from the Cats is that the problematic things we saw against Ball State will get better against EKU. Some of these things include the penalties and some arrant throws from quarterback Devin Leary.
I expect to see the offense flow better on Saturday against EKU now that the Cats got the rust off against Ball State.
