Kentucky Offers 5-Star 2025 Guard Meleek Thomas

The Pittsburgh product showed out on the Nike EYBL Circuit, raking in an offer from John Calipari in the process.

Kentucky basketball and head coach John Calipari are turning up the heat on the recruiting trail. The Hall of Fame skipper took in plenty of AAU ball last weekend, scoping out potential talent while also trying to win the Hunter Dickinson sweepstakes. 

The Wildcats have missed on some top 2024 talent, but most recently offered 4-star guard Ahmad Nowell and also made the top list for 4-star forward Amier Ali. It's never too early to look further than the next class, however, and that's what Calipari is doing. 

On Wednesday, an official offer was extended from Kentucky to 5-star shooting guard Meleek Thomas, the No. 4 overall player in the 2025 class, per the On3 Consensus. The offer comes after Thomas balled out on the Nike EYBL Circuit stop in Atlanta, averaging 14.5 points across four games for the New Heights Lightning, which went 4-0 against some top talent. 

The 6-foot-3, 165-pound SG attends Lincoln Park Charter in Pittsburgh, Pa. — which won the Pennsylvania Class 4A state title. He currently holds offers from Penn State, Villanova, Pittsburgh, Indiana, Duke, Michigan and others, as well as UK. 

Thomas is now the fourth 2025'er to be offered by Kentucky, joining Darryn Peterson, Koa Peat and Darius Acuff.
