'24 TE Dylan Mesman Commits to Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Already on a near-unprecedented recruiting hot streak, the Louisville football program strikes again in the Class of 2024.
Saline (Mich.) HS tight end Dylan Mesman announced Friday that he has given his verbal pledge to the Cardinals. He chose Louisville over finalists Auburn, Michigan State, Kentucky and Louisville.
Mesman was originally offered last May by Scott Satterfield and the previous staff, but his interest in Louisville still remained even with Jeff Brohm taking over as the head coach. The Cardinals made both his top ten and top five, and beat out Michigan State for his commitment, who had been viewed as the longtime favorite.
The 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end ranks as high as the the No. 8 player in the state of Michigan and the No. 15 tight end in the class, according to Rivals. He comes in as the No. 387 prospect in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite.
During his junior campaign, he logged 29 receptions for 245 yards and six touchdowns, helping Saline go 8-3 overall and reach the district finals before falling to eventual Michigan Division 1 state championship Belleville. He was tabbed as a Second-Team selection to the Ann Arbor Dream Team by Michigan Live.
Mesman is the fourth prospect in the 2024 cycle to commit to Louisville following their spring game last Friday. Offensive lineman Ransom McDermott and Jimmy Williams, plus wide receiver Shaun Boykins Jr. pulled the trigger as well.
The Cardinals have also landed commitments from six D1 transfers since the end of the spring ball. Former Rutgers offensive tackle Willie Tyler, former Oregon linebacker Keith Brown, and former North Carolina defensive backs Cam'Ron Kelly and Storm Duck, former Houston offensive tackle Lance Robinson and former Purdue offensive tackle Eric Miller.
Louisville now sports a seven-man recruiting class in the 2024 cycle with Mesman's commitment. On top of the four additions over the last week, linebacker T.J. Capers, running back Isaac Brown and quarterback Deuce Adams are also in the fold.
