PITTSBURGH -- The head coach of the Pitt Panthers' biggest rival was arrested in Pittsburgh on Saturday night.

Bob Huggins, the legendary head coach of the West Virginia Mountaineers, was caught driving under the influence by Pittsburgh Police on the city's North Shore.

Huggins was found around 8:30 pm blocking traffic in a black SUV with one of the side doors open and a flat tire that had been "shredded," according to a police report. He has been placed in custody and awaits a preliminary hearing.

This is his second arrest on a DUI charge, with the first coming almost 19 years ago to the date in June of 2004.

Earlier this year, Huggins was punished by the university for using a homophobic slur during a live radio hit for a station in Cincinnati. He incurred a salary reduction, was compelled to donate to charities that benefit LGBTQ people and undergo sensitivity training in addition to a three-game suspension.

The Panthers are scheduled to play West Virginia on December 6 in Morgantown, West Virginia. Whether Huggins will be manning the sideline for that game remains to be seen.
