PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers will have to look elsewhere for the final piece of their 2023-24 roster. They had hoped that Dayton transfer Mike Sharavjamts, a native of Mongolia and former ESPN top-100 recruit, would be that final piece, but he has left them out of his top three.

According to a report from ESPN's Joe Borzello, the Panthers are no longer a finalist for Sharavjamts. He cut them from a top-five that he released last month and has zeroed in on San Francisco, Nebraska and Memphis.

Sharavjamts, who goes by the nickname "Mongolian Mike" and stands 6'8 and weighs 180 pounds, played his high school ball in Ohio after moving stateside. He held offers from Eastern Washington in addition to the Flyers coming out of high school.

Sharavjamts was a unanimous four-star recruit rated as high as the No. 1 player in Ohio and No. 46 prospect in the class. Both ESPN and Rivals ranked Sharavjamts inside the top 100 of their 2024 prospect rankings.

Sharavjamts appeared in 32 games for the Flyers during his freshman season, averaging 5.6 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 turnovers per game while making 38.8% of his field goals and 31.5% of his 3-pointers over 23.1 minutes per contest.
