PITTSBURGH -- All 30 teams at NBA Summer League in Las Vegas have logged at least two games and that's allowed some of the newcomers, including a pair of former Pitt Panthers, to get their feet underneath them.

Former Pitt forwards Mouhamadou Gueye and Justin Champagnie have appeared in each of their team's two games, but got off to slow starts in their respective Summer League debuts. Then, in each of their second games, both Gueye and Champagnie took some steps forward and created some highlights.

Champagnie was the leading man for the Celtics against the Wizards over the weekend. Boston fell to 0-2 in Las Vegas, but he led the team in scoring and rebounding with 21 points and 12 rebounds and added six assists while also making 47% of his field goal attempts and two of five 3-point attempts.

After making the Celtics' playoff roster this past spring, Champagnie has started both Summer League games, averaging 29 minutes and 11.5 rebounds per contest. He didn't shoot the ball well (3-13) in the first game but Boston continues to trust him with the ball in his hands, as his game two performance demonstrated.

Meanwhile, Gueye improved his counting stats only marginally but did throw down an aggressive transition dunk over 2022 second-round pick, Isaiah Mobley, during the Raptors' 99-76 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Gueye's scored five points in each of his first two games and has made just one of seven three-point attempts. He has made some hustle plays, though, recording four blocks and 10 rebounds in 33 combined minutes.

Former Panthers Au'Diese Toney, Malik Ellison (Orlando Magic) and Nike Sibande (Dallas Mavericks) did not appear in either of their teams' first games.
