PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers were among the first to extend an offer to 2025 five-star point guard Darius Acuff and have kept up contact with him throughout the spring in summer.

Those efforts appear to have paid off, as the blue-chip target told Wyatt Huff of KY Insider that he hopes to visit Pitt, along with a selection of other schools, sometime this fall.

Acuff led Class Technical High School to its first state championship win last season, finishing with a 27-1 record while averaging 21.4 points and 5.7 assists per game. He was ultimately named 2022-23 MaxPreps Michigan High School Basketball Player of the Year. For his AAU team, The Family, he was named the top underclassman of the Nike EYBL Circuit's Session I after averaging 18.2 points on 60% shooting, 4.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.

Acuff is ranked as high as the No. 1 player in Michigan (247Sports) and the No. 1 point guard in the class of 2025 (247Sports and On3). 247Sports ranked him the No. 11 player overall in his class and each of the four major recruiting services consider him a top-20 player in the class as well. 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals all consider him a five-star prospect.
