PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers celebrated last year's homecoming by watching Israel Abanikanda rush for a program record 320 yards and six touchdowns against Virginia Tech. They'll hope this year's homecoming is a similarly happy affair against one of the league's up-and-comers.

Pitt has set their Homecoming game for Week 7 against Louisville. They'll take on the Cardinals on October 14 at Acrisure Stadium, with a kickoff time and television designation yet to be announced.

The Panthers dropped last season's contest against Lousiville, 24-10 in their first Atlantic-Coastal division crossover game of the season. Pitt held a 10-7 lead entering the fourth quarter but was outscored 17-0 over the final 15 minutes.

Pitt beat Lousiville in the last game between these two squads in Pittsburgh, however. In a 2020 matchup that pitted two top-25 squads against one another, The Panthers defended home field and their undefeated record with three interceptions from the defense and 261 total yards from Kenny Pickett in a 23-20 win
