PITTSBURGH -- Tino Sunseri ended his college career as one of the most prolific passers in Pitt Panthers history and he's parlayed that into a successful career as a college coach.

Now Sunseri, a three-year starter for the Panthers, has taken a new job under first-year Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti. Sunseri announced on Twitter that he will be the co-offensive coordinator and coach quarterbacks for the Hoosiers this coming season and beyond.

Sunseri finished his Pitt career ranked second in school history in total offense and third in career passing yards. He led the Panthers to a share of the 2010 Big East title and the 3,288 yards he threw for during his senior season was the second-highest total in school history at the time.

After graduating, Sunseri played three seasons for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and won the Grey Cup in 2013 before going into coaching.

Sunseri took his first job with Jimbo Fisher's staff at Florida State and spent two seasons there from 2016 to 2017 before moving on to Tennessee the following season and Alabama the year after that. As a graduate assistant with the Crimson Tide from 2019 to 2020, Sunseri worked with future first-round draft picks in Tua Tugovailoa and Mac Jones as Alabama ran up a 24-2 record and won the 2020 national championship.

In his last stop at James Madison, Sunseri coached quarterbacks excellently. Under his leadership, Dukes quarterbacks averaged 3,400 passing yards and 32 passing touchdowns per season. Each of the three starters he coached earned All-Sun Belt honors and Todd Centeio won Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year in 2022. The year before, Cole Johnson set James Madison records in passing yards, touchdowns, completions and finished fourth in voting for the Walter Payton Award, FCS' equivalent of the Heisman trophy.
