Former Pitt WR Tyler Boyd Wins Game for Bengals
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers had plenty of A+ representation during Week 15 of the NFL season, with Jordan Addison catching two touchdown passes and Tyler Boyd stealing the show to win the game for the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Bengals and Minnesota Vikings needed extra time to decide the winner. After ending regulation tied 24-24, the Bengals and Vikings both held the football with failed possessions in overtime. With Cincy facing 3rd and 9 from their own 43-yard line.
With 5:31 left on the clock, quarterback Jake Browning escaped the pocket and ran toward the sideline, finding Boyd across the middle, who broke a tackle and added even more to his 44-yard reception.
The catch setup a 29-yard field goal by Evan McPherson.
Boyd, 29, has tallied 522 yards and two touchdowns heading into Week 15. He finished the game with two receptions for 53 yards.
The Bengals now remain in the playoff hunt at 8-6. They'll take on the Pittsburgh Steelers next week.
