PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers welcomed very special unofficial visitor from right in their own backyard to campus this week as they look forward to filling the 2025 recruiting class.

Five-star center Alier Maluk, a 6'10 blue-chipper from Imani Christian Academy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was in Oakland to check out the Panthers up close and personal, according to a report from Rivals' Rob Cassidy.

Maluk told Stockrisers' Jake Weingarten in January that Pitt is among the four schools recruiting him the hardest, alongside Auburn, LSU and West Virginia and added that he speaks with assistant head coach Jason Capel regularly.

Rivals considers Maluk a five-star prospect and the No. 16 player in the class, while On3, ESPN and 247Sports hold him as a four-star player. They all still rank him as a top-50 player in the class, top five power forward and the No. 2 player in Pennsylvania.

He holds offers from Ohio State, Penn State, NC State, Seton Hall, Oregon and Texas A&M in addition to those four pursuing him the most aggressively.
