PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have already built one of the strongest 2024 recruiting classes in the ACC and the country, but they are still looking to make a splash before the cycle ends.

Four-star defensive end Sincere Edwards appeared locked up and out of reach after he committed to UCF way back in August of 2022 but has continued to keep his options open. As the Knights' grip on Edwards loosens, Pitt is hoping to steal him away and to that end, will bring him in for an official visit this weekend, per a report from Pittsburgh Sports Now.

Edwards visited Pitt unofficially in April and almost immediately scheduled a trip back to Pittsburgh for his official visit, which is this weekend. Edwards told Pittsburgh Sports Now the Panthers were "tied" with UCF entering the weekend.

He hasn't been shy about fielding offers from other schools in the process. Since giving a verbal pledge to the Knights, Edwards has added offers from Colorado, Maryland, Duke, Georgia Tech and Penn State and visited Florida, Texas and Kentucky, in addition to UCF and Pitt.

As a junior at Wekiva High School in Apopka, Florida, Edwards recorded 78 tackles (48 solo), 27 tackles for loss, 16 sacks and recovered two fumbles.

The 6'1 and 250-pound edge rusher is rated a four-star prospect by Rivals and three-star recruit by ESPN, 247Sports and On3. He's ranked as high as the No. 48 player in the state and No. 19 defensive lineman in the class. of 2024 (Rivals)
