PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers will have to fend off some late pushes from recruiting rivals to keep one of their highest-rated 2024 commits in the class.

The good news for the Panthers is that they'll be the last team to receive a visit from that prospect - four-star receiver DayDay Farmer. Per a report from Pittsburgh Sports Now, Farmer is scheduled to be in Pittsburgh this weekend following a pair of official visits to other schools this month.

Farmer has taken other official visits this month to UCF and West Virginia, leaving the door open to the possibility of a flip from Pitt. But the Panthers will try to keep him locked down during his official visit to Pittsburgh like they did with three-star tight end Eric Ingwerson, a Nebraska native who picked up an offer from the Cornhuskers after committing to Pitt but canceled an official visit to see them after meeting with the coaching staff in Pittsburgh.

Farmer is rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN. He's ranked as high as the No. 39 player in Florida and the No. 41 receiver in the class of 2024 (247Sports).

He chose Pitt over offers from Penn State, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Miami, Minnesota, Purdue, Iowa State, Arizona State, Virginia, Boston College, Michigan State, Missouri, Texas A&M and others. Alabama and Florida State expressed interest.

Farmer was the second player to commit to the class of 2024 for Pitt and is one of two wideouts in the class, along with three-star Cameron Monteiro.
