PITTSBURGH -- Micah Gilbert put the Pitt Panthers in his list of top seven schools earlier this month and now he's ready to announce where he will play college football next year.

Gilbert, a four-star wide receiver prospect in the class of 2024, told 247Sports' Tom Loy that he will announce his commitment decision on May 2 in a live broadcast on 247Sports' Youtube page. He will choose between the Panthers, Notre Dame, Michigan, North Carolina, Duke, Virginia Tech and South Carolina.

The 6'3, 205-pound wideout from Charlotte Christian High School in Charlotte, North Carolina is a consensus top 10 player in the state of North Carolina, top 40 wide receivers in this class and ranked as high as the No. 199 player nationally (247Sports). Gilbert trimmed a list of 21 offers to just those seven this spring. He visited Pitt, South Carolina, Penn State, Notre Dame, and North Carolina this spring.

The Fighting Irish are considered the favorites to land Gilbert, according to Loy, but the Panthers have a personal connection few others can rival. Former Panther defensive backs Jordan Whitehead and Darrelle Revis are both Gilbert's cousins.
