PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have spent the month of June stacking their 2024 recruiting class and building it into a top-10 collection of talent in the country right now. 

Now, the Panthers are beginning to reach out to top targets from the class of 2025. This week, the coaching staff extended an offer to a blue-chip defensive back from Georgia, Devin Williams. 

Williams is unanimously considered a four-star prospect and a top-100 player in the class of 2025. On3 and 247Sports ranked him as a top 10 corners in his class as well. 

As he wraps up his sophomore year at Buford High School, Williams holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, Tennesse, Michigan, Auburn, Florida State, Ohio State, Penn State, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Michigan State, South Carolina, West Virginia, Duke, Texas A&M, Wake Forest, Florida, Cincinnati, NC State, Texas, Colorado, Notre Dame, UCF, Arizona State and more in addition to Pitt.

Stephen Thompson graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications and political science from Pitt in April 2022 after spending four years as a sports writer and editor at The Pitt News, the University of Pittsburgh's independent, student-run newspaper.  He primarily worked the Pitt men's basketball beat, and filled in on coverage of football, volleyball, softball, gymnastics and lacrosse, in addition to other sports as needed. His work at The Pitt News has won awards from the Pennsylvania News Media Association and Associated College Press.  During the spring and summer of 2021, Stephen interned for Pittsburgh Sports Now, covering baseball in western Pennsylvania.
