South Carolina's Men's Basketball Team Sees Slight Bump In Major Polls
The South Carolina Gamecocks men's basketball team took a massive tumble in the Associated Press Top 25 and USA Today Coaches Polls last Monday after suffering a blowout loss to the Auburn Tigers and an unacceptable home loss from a perception standpoint to the LSU Tigers. Using the midweek bye to get extra rest and regroup after losing consecutive games for the first time all season, Lamont Paris' team responded well in a tricky road game this past Saturday against the Ole Miss Rebels, winning 72-59 in a game that as it played out, wasn't as close as the final score indicated.
Impressed with their response, both media members and coaches alike rewarded the Gamecocks by slotting them at No. 18 in both respective polls this afternoon. This marks the fourth straight week that the team will have a number next to their name, one week away from tying the longest stretch they were ranked back in the 2016-17 season.
