Former Gamecock Josh Vann Signs With UFL Team
Former South Carolina wide receiver Josh Vann, who played a crucial role in the Gamecocks' offense at the start of Shane Beamer's tenure, has taken the next step in his professional career by signing with the Memphis Showboats of the United Football League (UFL). Vann, who had a brief stint with the Carolina Panthers in 2023, is set to bring his dynamic playmaking abilities to the burgeoning league, which aims to provide a platform for talented players to showcase their skills during the Springtime.
During his collegiate tenure, Vann accumulated 1,352 receiving yards on 108 catches, and found the end zone 10 times, demonstrating reliable hands and field awareness in the process and serving as a key component in South Carolina's offense in 2021 especially.
The Memphis Showboats are eager to integrate Vann's talents into their roster and locker room in order to see if his experience at the higher levels of football will translate into success in the UFL.
