Shane Gives Update On Vital Piece Of Gamecocks' Offense
South Carolina's Football team is trying to stay as healthy as they can ahead of their game against Kentucky, but could be missing a critical piece yet again.
On Tuesday afternoon, South Carolina head football coach Shane Beamer met with the local media to discuss the latest on the Gamecocks' football team. While a lot of the talk was about the upcoming game against Kentucky and the ongoing development of several players, there was also some discussion about some players who might not be available this week. Here's the latest information on those guys specifically courtesy of Beamer himself:
Midweek Kentucky Week Injury Report
- RB Dakereon Joyner - VERY DOUBTFUL: The super senior running back wasn't able to play this past weekend against the Vanderbilt Commodores after suffering a lower-body injury against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks. Will not totally ruling him out yet, Beamer didn't sound optimistic about the prospects of Dakereon playing on Saturday against Kentucky.
- OL Trai Jones - OUT: The fourth-year offensive lineman has missed each of the last two games with an undisclosed injury, and won't be able to play once again in week eleven.
- WR Juice Wells - WEEK-TO-WEEK: Has been out since the Georgia game. Juice has been jogging for the last couple of weeks according to Beamer.
