Gameday Central: South Carolina @ No. 1 Georgia
It's the third game day of the season for Shane Beamer and South Carolina's Football team, who open up SEC play today in Athens against the No. 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs. There's been plenty of discussion regarding the Bulldogs personnel and what the Gamecocks will have to do if they want to pull off the massive upset on Saturday afternoon.
This year's game could be the last annual iteration of the rivalry, as Georgia and South Carolina won't be playing one another in 2024, and it was leaked over the Summer that Georgia's three annual opponents in a hypothetical 3-6-6 scheduling model wouldn't include South Carolina. Therefore, no matter what the end result of this game is, it will be important for fans on both sides to cherish a game that's taking place for the 76th time in series history.
