Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em is the ultimate look at the best and worst matchups based on a PPR scoring system in fantasy football. This column will not cover the elite players in the NFL like Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey or Justin Jefferson. Instead, I'll look at the players you have questions about who could exceed or fail to meet expectations at each position. For all of your final fantasy lineup decisions, be sure to check out my weekly player rankings which will be updated daily throughout the 2023 NFL season.

Week 10 Start ’Em: Tight Ends
Start of the Week
Dalton Kincaid vs. Broncos (Mon. 8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN): Kincaid is coming off another strong fantasy performance, scoring 16.1 points against the Bengals. With Dawson Knox out of action, the rookie has seen more snaps and a combined 26 targets while scoring 15-plus points in each game. The Broncos have allowed the second-most points per game to tight ends, so Kincaid is a virtual must start.

Start ’Em
Taysom Hill at Vikings (1 p.m. ET, Fox): Hill has put up four good stat lines in a row, as he’s being used in all kinds of roles in the Saints offense. He’s seen 19 targets in the last four games, catching 16 of them, while also rushing for three touchdowns and throwing for a fourth score. With four teams on a bye and at a thin position, Hill is a top-10 fantasy option against the Vikings defense this week.
Dalton Schultz at Bengals (1 p.m. ET, CBS): Schultz went off last week, scoring a season-best 27 fantasy points in a win over the Buccaneers. He has now scored 13-plus points in all but one of his last five games, and this week’s matchup against the Bengals makes him a solid starter. No team in the NFL has surrendered more fantasy points to opposing tight ends, giving up almost 16 points per game.
Trey McBride vs. Falcons (4:05 p.m. ET, CBS): McBride didn’t put up a good stat line last week, but he did see five targets in what was a brutal road matchup versus the Browns. He has a better chance to score this weekend, as McBride faces an Atlanta defense that’s allowed nine-plus points to six tight ends this season. Look for the Colorado State product to rebound and produce a top-12 fantasy line.

Week 10 Sit ’Em: Tight Ends
Sit of the Week
David Njoku at Ravens (1 p.m. ET, Fox): Njoku has been on fire in recent weeks, scoring 10-plus points in three straight games and four of his last five. Still, a bad matchup against the Ravens makes him a less attractive option. Their defense has allowed just one tight end to beat them for 11-plus points, and just one has put up a touchdown. If you do start Njoku, you might want to temper your expectations.

Sit ’Em
Kyle Pitts at Cardinals (4:05 p.m. ET, CBS): Pitts has fallen out of favor once again, as he’s scored single digits in three straight games. He had a modest 9.6 points last week, despite the absence of Drake London, and Pitts played second fiddle to teammate Jonnu Smith. The Cardinals have actually been tougher on tight ends than you might think, so Pitts is no more than a low-end fantasy option.
Luke Musgrave at Steelers (1 p.m. ET, CBS): Musgrave put up a solid 14.1 PPR points in last week’s win over the Rams, so he was a hot name on the waiver wire. And while he’ll be in some lineups for those in need, the matchup against the Steelers is a tough one. Their defense has allowed just one touchdown and the fifth-fewest fantasy points to tight ends, so Musgrave could crash back to earth.
Cade Otton vs. Titans (1 p.m. ET, CBS): Otton has put up good numbers in recent weeks, highlighted by a 23-point performance against the Texans last week. That made him a popular waiver add, but I wouldn’t chase the points against the Titans. Their defense has allowed just one tight end, Mark Andrews, to score double digits … and he scored just 10.9 points. Beware Otton this week.
