Reds Open to Jonathan India Trade, Not Desperate to Move Former Rookie of the Year
CINCINNATI — There have been plenty of rumblings about a potential Reds trade involving Jonathan India.
MLB Network's Jon Morosi reported that the front office was having "active" trade discussions with three or four teams.
Reds general manager Nick Krall made it clear that he wasn't going to give away the former National League Rookie of the Year.
“I wouldn’t say we are motivated (to trade India)," Krall said in a conversation with Gordon Wittenmyer of the Cincinnati Enquirer. "If a deal comes around, we have to be open to anything. But just motivated to move players off your roster just because ‘that guy might not fit (a specific spot).’ That doesn’t make any sense.”

Krall's logic is sound. The Reds shouldn't be in a hurry to move India, even if he's projected to make $3.7 million this season.
They have a young, promising infield, but finding the right deal is important. Krall sounds open to dealing India, which should be the case.
The baseball offseason is in its' infancy. Flipping India for pitching help would be ideal.
The Reds are going to make multiple moves this offseason. Maybe that includes trading India, but Krall isn't and he shouldn't be in a rush to deal the 26-year-old infielder.
