Report: White Sox Discussing Dylan Cease Trade With Multiple Teams
CINCINNATI — The White Sox are entertaining the idea of trading staff ace Dylan Cease according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.
Chicago has had trade talks with the Dodgers, Braves and a handful of other teams.
Cease is an attractive option for plenty of clubs looking to bolster their starting rotation with an affordable player. He's projected to make $8.8 million in 2024.
The soon-to-be 28 year old was the American League Cy Young runner-up in 2022. He took a step back in 2023, posting a 4.58 ERA in 177 innings.
Adding him to a rotation that includes Hunter Greene, Nick Lodolo and Graham Ashcraft would do wonders for their depth and the ceiling of their staff.
With so many teams interested, Cease won't come cheap, but it's a move the Reds should explore.
