Bengals Owner Mike Brown: 'Joe Burrow is the Heart of the Football Team'
CINCINNATI — The Bengals are hoping to sign Joe Burrow to a long-term contract extension in the near future.
The 26-year-old has taken the franchise to new heights since being the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Burrow is considered one of the NFL's elite signal callers and is eligible to sign an extension this offseason.
"Joe Burrow is the heart of the football team," Bengals President and team owner Mike Brown said on Monday.
Both the Bengals and Burrow's camp have agreed not to discuss contract talks publicly.
"We thought it would be helpful not to be distracted," Brown said. "We'll see if we can get it done in a business-like way. We're trying. He's trying. We'll see how it goes."
The Bengals are also hoping to sign other key members of the team in the near future, including wide receiver Tee Higgins.
