Brad Robbins Tells College Story Connected To Drue Chrisman
CINCINNATI — Rookie punter Brad Robbins is very familiar with his main competition for a Bengals roster spot. The former Michigan punter passed on a chance to walk on at Ohio State while Drue Chrisman punted there.
Robbins has known Chrisman for a while as the two get ready to compete.
"Yeah, he's one of my good buddies, actually," Robbins said. "I'm from Columbus. He was a year above me and was on scholarship. And was getting ready to play. And they're special teams coordinator at the time. He told me 'You can come walk on here if you want.' I probably wouldn't have seen the field until he left. He (the coordinator) actually called me on my way up to Ann Arbor and 'I'm like, Yeah, I'm actually heading up the Ann Arbor.
"But me and Drue have known each other for a long time. And he's one of my favorite people. nicest guy in the world, and just excited to be around him and learn from him too."
Robbins said he looks up to Chrisman as the old college rivals join forces on the same team throughout this offseason.
"He's one of my good buddies, right?" Robbins said. "So I've looked up to him in a way. I feel like that's pretty cool and I'm really excited to just get to work with him and all the other guys too."
