Cincinnati Picks Tight End Luke Musgrave In Lance Zierlein's Latest Mock Draft
CINCINNATI — Lance Zierlein released his third mock draft for NFL.com this week and has the Bengals taking Oregon State tight end Luke Musgrave at No. 28.
"Musgrave is an above-average run-blocker as a college prospect and has a ton of upside as a pass-catcher," Zierlein wrote. "Bengals QB Joe Burrow has a history, dating back to his time at LSU, of using tight ends to exploit opposing defenses."
Musgrave is one of the best athletes at his position in this class and could be a nice boon for a still-thin tight-end room that currently houses Devin Asiasi and Irv Smith Jr.
Yet, the consensus big board has him ranked 49th overall and fourth among tight ends. It might end up a reach for a player that has some question marks around his contested-catch ability.
Pittsburgh defensive tackle Calijah Kancey was also available in this exercise to fill a more valuable position.
