Ja'Marr Chase Praises Joe Burrow Following Bengals' Win Over Rams: 'You Got Nuts, Boy'

The star quarterback played through a calf strain to guide the Bengals to victory.

CINCINNATI — Ja'Marr Chase put on a show for more than the 65,000 fans that attended Monday night's game at Paycor Stadium. 

The star receiver had 12 receptions for 141 yards in the Bengals' 19-16 win. He had nothing but praise for his quarterback after Joe Burrow threw the ball 49 times, despite clearly being less than 100% with a calf injury. 

"They don't make too many quarterbacks tough like that," Chase said. "Hell yeah, if you gonna come to practice like that and you're gonna have that type of work ethic. It takes a lot to be a quarterback and still play injured. You're getting rushed every play, you gotta drop every play. He gotta lotta balls to be out there playin."

The Bengals entered Monday's game with an 0-2 record. Burrow acknowledged that was a factor in his decision. 

"It was part of the reason I wanted to play," he said. "You go 0-3—obviously, a lot of football left to be played—but 0-3 sounds a lot worse than 1-2. Morale is probably a lot lower when you’re 0-3, so it’s a big win for us. It was good to get on the board. I think we’ll be able to put something together now.”
