Bengals QB Joe Burrow Makes Statement With Pregame Throwing Session Before Preseason Matchup With Packers

The 26-year-old suffered a right calf strain on July 27.

CINCINNATI — There's been plenty of speculation about Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow's calf strain. 

From Zac Taylor's "several weeks" comment being blown out of proportion, to some believing Ja'Marr Chase was hinting at a much more significant injury—there are people that believe Burrow is going to miss regular season time.  

Burrow attempted to end that speculation on Friday afternoon when he went through a full pregame workout. 

The 26-year-old threw more than 50-yards downfield. He planted on his right foot time and time again, without wincing. There were no signs of pain and he did it with his right calf exposed.

No support. No sleeve. No brace.  

Burrow also ran as part of his pregame routine. 

The Bengals star made a statement without saying a word. 

Just two days after walking out to practice for the first time since his injury, he went through a full workout with plenty of cameras around him. 

This was Burrow sending a message to anyone that thought the injury was worse than it was. It was his way of putting the speculation to rest. 

He could've went through a workout in the Bengals' indoor facility or at the practice field. He could've thrown long before cameras and media were around. 

Instead, Burrow chose to throw just a few hours before Cincinnati's preseason opener against Green Bay. 

It was his way of letting every know that he's OK and plans on being on the field when the games matter.
