Orlando Brown Jr. on Pairing With Cordell Volson: 'Sky's The Limit'
CINCINNATI — New Bengals left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. is getting acclimated with his running mate: Cordell Volson.
The left guard has helped Brown get accustomed to the fresh system with a vigor that's impressed the highest-paid offensive lineman on the team.
"He's got the got the potential to be a Pro Bowl-caliber or All-Pro caliber football player," Brown said. "He loves the game. He focuses every single day on getting better. You know, he loves to communicate, over-communicate. You know, very rarely do you come in as a veteran in my position, and a guy like him is able to sit there and be able to communicate things to you from a fundamental from a scheme standpoint. And he's played so much football man, he's very experienced. I'm so looking forward to being able to work with him and get better, get out there on Sundays."
Volson had an up-and-down rookie year which is expected, but he got incrementally better throughout the campaign and looks to be even bigger heading into the 2023 season.
He struggled against Baltimore in the Wild Card round but posted overall PFF grades of 63.8 and 69.1 in the final two games of the playoff run.
"Throwing up that wall in front of Joe, that's gonna be what's most important," Brown concluded. "We got big men like me and him that can move really well and understand our strengths and weaknesses within the scheme. I mean, sky's the limit."
