Paul Burmeister on Michael Mayer Potentially Playing For Bengals: 'I Can Picture Joe Burrow Smiling Now'
CINCINNATI — The 33rd team caught up with Notre Dame radio voice Paul Burmeister this week and he's confident Michael Mayer would be a great addition to the Bengals offense.
Burmeister broke down the Notre Dame tight end's game and thinks it'll make Joe Burrow smile.
"Michael Mayer as the fourth best option in that offense?" Burmeister said. "I can picture Joe Burrow smiling now."
Mayer is the consensus top tight end and the 24th-ranked player overall. The Athletic's Dane Brugler has Mayer 19th overall and first among tight ends.
"Mayer needs to become more consistent with his blocking technique and execution, but his controlled athleticism, play strength through contact, and stellar intangibles raise his floor as a prospect," Brugler wrote in his draft guide. "He projects as a traditional Y tight end with immediate NFL starting talent."
He is a very realistic option for the Bengals at Pick 28. Check out the breakdown from Burmeister.
