Postgame Observations: Bengals Get Crushed By Titans 27-3

The Bengals fall to 1-3 on the season.
In this story:

NASHVILLE — The Bengals were hoping to even their record, instead they got blown out in ugly fashion on Sunday at Nissan Stadium.

The Titans scored 27-straight points en route to a 27-3 win.

The Bengals fall to 1-3 on the season. Here are our postgame observations:

Awful Offense

The Bengals' offense was awful on Sunday. After completing his first four passes for 45 yards, Joe Burrow completed two of his next nine passes for 11 yards.

Cincinnati scored on their opening drive, but punted the ball on their next four possessions. They only generated four first downs over that span.

Burrow was stripped off the ball on the Bengals' first possession of the second half. This was their worst game of the season. Even worse than the Cleveland blowout loss in Week 1. They at least had to deal with unique circumstances and weather against the Browns. That wasn't the case on Sunday in Nashville.

Burrow completed 20-of-30 passes for 165 yards. He was sacked three times, but the Titans never let him get comfortable in the pocket. He was hit regularly and under regular pressure throughout the game.

Worse Defense

The Bengals' defense carried Cincinnati to their first win of the season in Week 3. That completely flipped against the Titans.

The Titans scored on five of their first six possessions, including three-straight touchdowns in the second quarter. The touchdown drives were 78, 73 and 75 yards, respectively.

DeAndre Hopkins (38 yards) and Chris Moore (44 yards) made big plays downfield. Derrick Henry had a 29-yard touchdown run and also threw a touchdown pass.

The defense also struggled to get off the field in the third quarter. The Titans kicked a field goal on the opening possession of the quarter. Their 15-play drive took 10:22 off the clock, which essentially ended the game.

Injuries

Tee Higgins suffered a rib injury in the first half and didn't return. It's unclear what happened, but he was carted to the locker room before being ruled out.

The star wide receiver had two receptions for 19 yards before exiting the game.

Cam Taylor-Britt suffered a concussion early in the second half.
