Dane Brugler Believes Ohio State Right Tackle Dawand Jones Could Fall to Bengals in Round Two

This would be a big win for Cincinnati's offensive line.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — There's been plenty of discussion about the Bengals addressing their offensive line in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Could one of the top lineman fall to them in round two?

Dane Brugler is one of the top draft analysts and creator of "The Beast" draft guide. He believes there's a chance Ohio State right tackle Dawand Jones falls to the Bengals at pick 60.

"They'll go Dawand Jones from Ohio State in the second round," Brugler said on the Athletic Football Show.

Andy Staples, Lance Zierlein and Brugler did a first round mock draft on the podcast. The Bengals landed Georgia tight end Darnell Washington at pick 28.

Guys like Darnell Wright, Michael Mayer, Bijan Robinson and Dalton Kincaid were off the board.

That's when Brugler mentioned Jones being a possibility in round two.

Jones is Brugler's 62nd ranked player and although he's received some first round buzz, it's worth noting that he didn't do any agility drills during the pre-draft process.

The 21-year-old is 6-8, 374 pounds and would be a gigantic tackle to pair with Alex Cappa on the right side of the Bengals' offensive line.

Jones is similar to left tackle Orlando Brown Jr., who the Bengals signed to a four-year, $64 million contract in March. Both guys are gigantic, powerful, have great length and are able to overwhelm opponents with their size and strength.

It's also worth noting that a combination of Washington and Jones would be scary from a physicality standpoint. The Bengals would be big and powerful in multiple key spots if they took those two guys with their first two picks in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Check out the entire show here. Brugler makes the comments about Jones with just over 11 minutes remaining in the podcast.
