Browns Address Major Weakness Ahead of Regular Season Opener Against Bengals

Cincinnati travels to Cleveland in Week 1

CINCINNATI — Like every NFL team, the Bengals a fielding and making trade calls ahead of Tuesday's deadline to trim the roster to 53 players. 

Cincinnati travels to Cleveland in 13 days for the regular season opener. The Browns addressed one of their biggest weaknesses on Monday when they traded for a kicker. 

The Browns are sending a 2025 seventh-round pick to the Chargers in exchange for Dustin Hopkins according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. 

Cade York struggled throughout the preseason and rather than stick with him, the Browns are clearly moving in another direction. 

Brad Stainbrook of Orange and Brown Report was the first to report that Cleveland was releasing York. They took him in the fourth round (124th overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft. 

The Bengals play the Browns in Cleveland on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. ET.
