Dak Prescott Expected to Reset Quarterback Market, Make $60 Million Per Season

The Dallas Cowboys star could become the highest-paid signal-caller in the NFL.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — Joe Burrow may be the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL after signing a 5-year, $275 million extension last September, but that's expected to change this offseason.

The Dallas Cowboys are expected to offer Dak Prescott a contract worth at least $60 million per season that would make him the highest-paid signal-caller in the NFL according to Jordan Schultz. That's significantly more (11%) than the $55 million per year Burrow is getting from the Bengals.

Trevor Lawrence and Jordan Love are two other candidates for long-term extensions this offseason. Lawrence, a former No. 1 overall pick, could certainly reset the market. Love is also a former first rounder and could command a sizable contract, even though he's only been a starter for one season.

Burrow's contract was record-setting, but it will be broken by a plethora of quarterbacks over the next few seasons.
