Hunter Henry Returning to New England, Free Agent Tight End Market Gets Thinner
CINCINNATI — The Bengals' tight end options in free agency are already becoming more limited than expected.
The Patriots are signing Hunter Henry to a three-year extension worth $27 million according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The deal could be worth up to $30 million.
That means Dalton Schulz and Henry are both off the market.
Seahawks tight end Noah Fant is now the top option in a shallow free agent class.
The Bengals are expected to retain some of their own tight ends, including Drew Sample and Tanner Hudson, but they don't have any on the roster for the 2024 season.
This is another reason why bringing back Hayden Hurst could make a ton of sense. The veteran will be released by the Panthers at the start of the new league year.
