Jonah Williams Appears to be Progressing Nicely Following Offseason Knee Surgery
CINCINNATI — Just hours after La'el Collins praised Jonah Williams at Paycor Stadium, the Bengals veteran offensive tackle reminded everyone that he was still working hard, even if he isn't at their voluntary offseason workouts.
Williams posted a video of himself squatting 500-pounds just a few months removed from knee surgery.
The 25-year-old officially asked for a trade after the Bengals signed left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. to a four-year, $64 million contract.
The coaching staff was hoping to move Williams to right tackle, but the veteran wasn't happy about the change. It's unclear if he'll be traded this offseason, but the Bengals are hopeful that he'll join the team at some point if they can't get what they're looking for in a trade.
Williams is set to make $12.6 million this season. The team exercised the fifth-year option on him last April.
The former first round pick spent the first four years of his career at left tackle and played through a dislocated knee cap last season. He underwent a procedure in Februrary that is designed to prevent the dislocation from happening in the future.
