In an interesting video, Miami Dolphins edge rusher Bradley Chubb declined to name Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett or Pittsburgh Steelers DE T.J. Watt as one of the best at the position they all play.

On a recent episode of the Cheetah Podcast hosted by Dolphins’ WR Tyreek Hill on the Vocal Podcast Netwoek, Hill asked Chubb who his top five players at his position were.

“Maxx Crosby, Nick Bosa, somebody sneaky I like watching is Hassan Reddick,” said Chubb. “He got a lot of slack early in his career but I feel like people are starting to give him his respect. Micah Parsons of course and Brian Burns, I’ll say Brian Burns.”

Chubb did name five really good pass rushers that are among the league’s best. But none of them have done it over a period of time like Garrett and Watt have. Garrett has 74.5 sacks in six seasons, while Watt has 77.5 of them in the same amount of time. In 2021, Watt exploded for 22.5 sacks.

For comparison, Chubb has 28.5 sacks in six seasons. He has his best season as a rookie with 12 sacks and hasn’t hit double-digits since.  Garrett and Chubb have passed that total of 12 sacks a combined eight times. Hill asked Chubb not to name himself but stats show he couldn’t have if he wanted to.

Parsons and Bosa are among the league’s best there with Watt and Garrett. Crosby is up and coming, as is Burns. But for Chubb to not name what is clearly two of the league’s best is quite interesting.
