DeAndre Hopkins Watch Comes to an End, Reportedly Signing With AFC Team
At last, the DeAndre Hopkins watch is over. According to Doug Kyed of AtoZ Sports, the free-agent wide receiver is signing with the Tennessee Titans. It was once rumored that Hopkins would reconnect with his former teammate Deshaun Watson in Cleveland but that’s all it was, a rumor.
Instead, Cleveland is happy with what they have at wide receiver and that includes their second and third options, Donovan Peoples-Jones and Elijah Moore.
Hopkins visited just two teams the Titans and New England Patriots after being cut by the Arizona Cardinals. Both teams were said to have made an offer with the Titans’ offer expected to be more substantial.
The 31-year-old wide receiver fills a need for the Titans who didn’t have a well-known receiver outside of second-year man Treylon Burks. It is a two-year $26 million dollar deal for Hopkins, that could be worth up to $32 million, according to Ian Rapoport.
Cleveland will see Hopkins and the Tennessee Titans in week 3 in Cleveland. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
