Elijah Moore was a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft but hasn’t quite lived up to expectations thus far. That could change this season with new surrounding for him. In a recent Bleacher Report piece, Moore was listed as a player that is primed for a breakout in 2023.

Moore’s best season came as a rookie when he had 538 recovering yards in just 11 games. He followed it up with a sophomore campaign of 446 yards in 16 games. In New York, Moore never found a consistent role over the long haul. He also felt the negative impact of quarterback play by the likes of Sam Darnold, Zach Wilson, Mike White, and Joe Flacco.

Now, heading to Cleveland with what they hope is a Deshaun Watson who bounces back, more opportunity should be there. As mentioned by Brent Sobleski, the 4.35 40-yard dash is something to be excited about. Moore is sharing a wide receiver room with Amari Cooper, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Cedric Tillman, and David Bell. He will benefit from the usage of TE David Njoku and RB Nick Chubb, too.

Cleveland swapped a second-round draft pick for a third to get Moore from the Jets. So they essentially got Tillman and Moore for a second-round pick. The value there is off the charts if it all goes to plan.

If Moore does indeed break out in 2023, Jets fans will wonder why he was given up on so easily whole Cleveland will be thrilled beyond belief.
