The Los Angeles Chargers enter the 2023 with high expectations and rightfully so. They made the postseason last year and now will be looking to climb even higher with the level of talent they have available on their roster. Led by star quarterback Justin Herbert, the Chargers have their sights on a potential Super Bowl this coming season.

The team needs to make another jump this year; otherwise, it could cause some big ramifications across the organization. Many called for head coach Brandon Staley's job after the team's loss in the AFC Wild Card last season but the team decided to give him another chance. He needs to show that he can be the guy to lead this team. But also important is the role of new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, who was brought in to help unlock the next level to the Chargers' offense.

Moore could be the most important factor in how the Chargers' season turns out because if he can't elevate the offense, then LA may not go anywhere. NFL writer Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports believes that Moore is the most important non-quarterback piece of the puzzle for the Bolts.

"The Cowboys bid Moore farewell in an apparent effort to balance out the offense and lean back into the ground, and now the frequent head coaching candidate could be key to unlocking Justin Herbert as a more consistent downfield thrower. Brandon Staley needs big-game results more than most, so there's a lot riding on Herbert's leap from really good to playoff-level great."

Moore was brought in to help alleviate the stagnant tendencies of the Bolts offense. It was what caused their eventual downfall last season, and the team wants no part of that again this year.

With a quarterback like Herbert and all the available weapons that he has to work with, there is no reason why the Chargers shouldn't be a top offense that dominates week to week. The fate of the Chargers rests on the offense being effective, so Moore needs to create a system that finds success out on the field.
