One veteran receiver is active for the New York Jets on Monday night, but the other is not.

After being listed as questionable to face the Los Angeles Chargers due to a knee injury, Allen Lazard will make his eighth straight start for Gang Green in Week 9. Meanwhile, Randall Cobb, who missed the Week 8 win due to an AC joint injury, is inactive, along with veteran defensive end Carl Lawson, for the second week in a row.

Malik Taylor was elevated of the Practice Squad to provide insurance amongst the receiving corps for Monday.

As expected backup linebacker Chazz Surratt was one of the Jets' seven gameday inactives. He missed practice this week week while dealing with an ankle injury.

Surratt's absence provides an opportunity to dress sixth-round rookie linebacker Zaire Barnes. Making his NFL debut, the Western Michigan product breaks his string of gameday inactives on Monday Night Football against the Chargers. Barnes totaled 25 tackles in four preseason games.

Undrafted rookie receiver Jason Brownlee, who saw only five total snaps in his NFL debut against the Giants, returned to the inactives list in Week 9. Offensive tackle Dennis Kelly, rookie defensive back Jarrick Bernard-Converse and fifth-round running back Israel Abanikanda joined Brownlee.

Abanikanda is inactive for the eighth time in eight games. The 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference rushing champion is still adjusting to the professional game. During the preseason, the Brooklyn-born running back logged 25 preseason carries for 113 yards and one touchdown over three appearances before suffering a thigh contusion against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on August 19.

The Jets put their three-game win streak on the line against the Chargers at MetLife Stadium. The two AFC rivals will kick off the November 6 primetime affair at 8:15 pm ET on ESPN.
