The New York Jets were a hot topic on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" Thursday.

The weekday show, which covers news from around the league and adds a pop culture flavor, discussed Gang Green's case for receiving the maximum number of primetime games and also dove into the Week 1 matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.

"Jets on primetime, give us more Aaron Rodgers. Him, Josh Allen. I cannot wait to see that," said co-host Jason McCourty, a former 13-year NFL veteran.

The MNF opener was announced by Troy Aikman during Thursday's edition of ABC's "Good Morning America." The Jets and Bills will meet at MetLife Stadium on September 11, exactly 22 years after the terrorist attacks on America.

"So the New York market gets a home game that night, September 11. There will be solemn moments as part of that, but there will also be a fantastic game,: said NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, who was subbing in for regular Peter Schrager on Thursday's 'GMFB' panel.

Co-host Jamie Erdahl proceeded to praise the matchup choice for the first MNF game on the schedule.

"I think the Bills are great. I think they’re stacked, love their head coach," said Erdahl. "We just don’t know what the Jets have put together and we are gonna have a sweet little introduction. I wanted them on Sunday night of Week 1. Monday night is fine by me. I'll watch."

The Bills opened as a 2.5-point road favorite over the Jets on the Week 1 betting line set by FanDuel.

The two teams split the 2022 regular season series, accounting for a combined 69 points over eight quarters of football. With Zach Wilson at quarterback, New York posted a 20-17 victory over Buffalo at home in Week 9. The Bills took the grudge match by a 20-12 margin in Week 14.

During another GMFB segment, the hosts engaged in an exercise entitled "Primetime Showdown." Comparing the Jets and the Bills, they argued "who deserves the primetime spotlight more?"

"I’m gonna go with the Bills here," said McCourty. "I want to see Josh Allen in primetime as much as possible. This guy has reckless abandon with his body. I want to see him jumping over people. I want to see him running people over. I want to see him skyrocketing the ball 60 yards down the field."

Next, McCourty, who played his last four NFL seasons (2018-21) in the AFC East, highlighted Buffalo's WR1.

"And then, Stefon Diggs, his receiver on the outside," said McCourty. "I want a guy playing with this level of passion that he plays with and with this big-play ability. These two [Diggs and Allen] I want to see on primetime as much as possible."

Garafolo countered McCourty by saying Gang Green deserves more primetime exposure.

"Give me the Jets, and I know you’re going to say ‘Oh, Aaron Rodgers and how many primetime games and everything we’ve been talking about," said Garafolo. "Give me everybody except Aaron Rodgers. I’m not dismissing him I’m just saying this is a team that I've been covering the last couple of years here and I've noticed the personalities that are available here to the New York market that should be available nationally and I think that are going to be."

The substitute panelist went on to mention Jets' cornerback Sauce Gardner. The reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year recently showed his large personality by making multiple social media pitches to lure Rodgers to New York.
