PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers draft pick Chris Oladokun is back on the open market after the Kansas City Chiefs waived the quarterback as they finalized their 53-man roster.

Oladokun was drafted in the seventh round by the Steelers in 2022 but didn't make the team as a rookie. Instead of the rookie, the Steelers kept Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph, who all returned for another season in 2023. Oladokun was eventually waived and picked up by the Chiefs, who kept him on their practice squad throughout the season.

This summer, Oladokun was battling for a roster spot in Kansas City as the Chiefs looked to replace their long-time backup Chad Henne. Unfortunately, the team has decided to look elsewhere, cutting Oladokun and quarterback Shane Buechele.

Oladokun could be an option for the Chiefs practice squad again this season.
