Mason Madsen Transferring to Boston College

One of the Bearcats best shooters is headed east.

CINCINNATI — Former Bearcats guard Mason Madsen has a new college home. Madsen announced he is transferring to Boston College after spending his first two college seasons at Cincinnati.

Madsen's playing time reduced from 19.6 minutes per game in 2020-21 to 11.6 MPG this season. He averaged 3.9 points and 1.3 rebounds, with every one of his stats dropping other than a career-high 36.3% three-point mark.

The Bearcats are firmly in play to land West Virginia guard Sean McNeil—who would instantly replace Madsen's shooting. According to Evan Maya, McNeil is the 41st-ranked transfer, and Madsen is 283rd.

McNeil represents a massive upgrade offensively and a minor one defensively if Wes Miller can land him.
