Look: Ahmad Gardner Buys Permanent Jersey Number From Jets Teammate

Everyone has a price, and Gardner landed on the right on with D.J. Reed.

CINCINNATI — Ahmad Gardner finally got his desired NFL number choice after a "financial negotiation" with New York Jets No. 1 jersey-wearer D.J. Reed.

Reed picked a great number to bargain with after signing with the Jets this offseason following stints with the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks. He will now wear No. 4—while getting a bit richer in the process.

Rumors circulated that Gardner paid $250,000 for the number but he quickly shot that down. It surely wasn't cheap after Reed already had to buy the number off of Jets safety Kai Nacua less than two months ago.
