CINCINNATI — Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner's NFL debut earned him a top-10 nod on PFF's first rookie rankings of the season. The cornerback finished with two solo tackles and a pass breakup. He was targeted just three times in the New York Jets' 24-9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

"Gardner picked up right where he left off from Cincinnati," Mike Renner wrote. "Planted for the most part at left cornerback (although he tracked Mark Andrews on some third downs), Gardner allowed only one catch all day for eight yards with a pass breakup. To already be doing that at the NFL level is special."

Gardner was fantastic in his debut and should help Jets fans breathe easier as their hearts palpitate watching Joe Flacco throw the ball 50-plus times in 2022.
