CINCINNATI — UC athletics just got a big boost for its $100 million Big 12 Day One Goal.

The school and Total Quality Logistics agreed on a large sponsorship deal.

“We will never be able to fully quantify the value of having TQL, one of North America’s largest logistics firms, fully behind our school and our athletic department,” UC athletic director John Cunningham said in a press release. “TQL is not only an incredibly successful company, it is right in our backyard and shares our same commitment to the Cincinnati community, our student-athletes and our university. We are thrilled TQL shares our same vision for comprehensive excellence and we are excited for the athletic department enhancements this partnership will bring to UC.”

The move pushes that Day-One Fund north of $80 million as the start of Big 12 life approaches this summer. TQL owns the naming rights to FC Cincinnati's stadium and has increased its sports foothold in the region

“It puts us right where we need to be as we head into the Big 12,” Cunningham told the Cincinnati Business Courier. “To get this done, we really needed this type of gift. This was a big, big piece to that equation.”

Neither party revealed the firm dollar amount the two sides agreed upon.

Carson Field at Nippert Stadium isn't changing in actual name, but there will be a ton of TQL signage throughout the stadium, and they will be able to recruit UC students for jobs.

“It’s a naming-rights level deal,” TQL president Kerry Byrne told the CBC. “It’s a significant investment over the long term. But we chose not to rename the field TQL Field, respecting the history of the field and the Carson name.”

The field has been named after Arch Carson, the founder of UC football, since 1910.
