CINCINNATI — Two Bearcats receivers are gunning for the NFL's 40-yard dash record this weekend. Tyler Scott and Tre Tucker held their media sessions on Friday, and both got asked plenty of questions about their speed.

Each ran a 4.29 second 40 time at UC, and Scott is ready to translate his track skills to the NFL level.

"I think just understanding how to use it," Scott said regarding how he'll transfer his game-breaking speed. "I guess that's the biggest thing that people don't get really get. You look at Usain Bolt. Usain Bolt in the first 40-60 meters, everyone's got him. You look at that back 40-60 meters. The race is over. So you look at a guy, and he may come out and run the fastest 40-yard dash, but he may not be the fastest person.

"In football, you gotta learn how to get to the top speed fast. So one thing I really focused on when I was in high school was indoor track. I got to run it finally my senior year. We got a new track coach, and he got us into indoor track, and so my main focus was just really learning how to get out fast."

Scott understands how important those 10-yard splits are, especially for a receiver. The first 10 yards are arguably the most important when it comes to creating separation on a route.

Tucker is well-versed in creating that space. He compared himself to Dolphins All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill at his media session and had one term ready when asked how he might complement the Cowboys passing attack.

Speed, speed, speed," Tucker said. "A lot of speed."

Both get to show off those wheels during workouts on Saturday on NFL Network at 1 p.m. ET. Watch via fuboTV—start your free trial here.
