CINCINNATI — The Bearcats College Football Playoff opponent lost another key starter to injury this week. On3's Matt Zenitz reports that starting Alabama cornerback Josh Jobe underwent surgery on his foot and will miss the rest of the season.

The starting cornerback appeared in 12 games for the Crimson Tide this season. Jobe totaled 38 tackles and two interceptions. The news comes on the heels of Alabama ruling out wide receiver John Metchie III from playing in the College Football Playoff due to a torn ACL.

The game-breaker posted 96 catches for 1,142 yards and eight touchdowns this season. The hits keep coming for Alabama, who is still a 13.5-point favorite over Cincinnati. That spread is the largest of any 2021 bowl game.

Cincinnati will try to prove the oddsmakers wrong on Dec. 31. The Cotton Bowl kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
