Good, Bad and Ugly From Cincinnati Bearcats' 73-72 Overtime Win Over San Francisco Dons
The Cincinnati Bearcats survived a close one in the first round of the NIT as they beat San Francisco 73-72 in overtime.
Here's the good, bad and ugly from the first round thriller:
The Good
Simas Lukosius was amazing! He finished with 28 points, including a career-high eight 3-pointers and the game winner with four seconds left in overtime.
Dan Skillings also had a double digit night, finishing with 16 points and eight rebounds.
The Bad
Giving up the game-tying 3-pointer to Malik Thomas at the end of regulation. Thomas led the Dons with 31 points.
San Francisco had four players in double digits, but giving up an open three to their best player with the game on the line is unacceptable. They'll have to be better if they're going to beat Bradley on Saturday.
The Ugly
The Bearcats led the Dons hang around throughout the second half. San Francisco overcame a 9-point deficit with 2:32 remaining to force overtime.
This felt like an obvious win for the Bearcats, but they couldn't slam the door shut. They let the Dons hang around and it nearly cost them their season.
They have to learn out to close games if they're going to not only beat Bradley on Saturday, but make a deep run in the NIT.
